Leonid Pustelenin
He started making cartoons at 7, and by 12 he was already in video production — and hasn't stopped since. He's been an animator, motion designer, screenwriter, producer, art and creative director, ran two production companies — and eventually arrived at directing: he realised that whole stack of experience works best there.
I'm not chasing festivals, but a few things landed there too: the project “To Be, Not to Seem” for the 800th anniversary of my hometown Nizhny Novgorod collected awards, including European prizes, and the “Telo” video for LSP took first place as Clip of the Year according to The Flow in 2017.
On set I'm exactly where I should be — as if this job brings out the best in me.
